It does not matter if you are manager of a large corporation or a small company based community. It does not matter if your bottom line is customer service or products you sell. Management at any level in a company can be a challenge and most of these challenges are the same regardless of how many people you have beneath you.

Management has several major concerns when it comes to running a business. They should ensure that everyone is working at full capacity and which are kept under control the amount of dead weight they have. Also make sure that they are maintaining standards of quality both with its products and services with the objectives and action plans in place to help achieve a better level. Also make sure they have in place a system of checks and balances as a way to ensure that the actions of the company are producing the results they want.

It can be a hard line and most of the time many people do not understand the role of management in the workplace because they are not actually produce work. To be an effective manager, sometimes you need to get in the trenches and work with these people who are your producers of the lowest.

There are quite a few managers out there that are just winging it. They are unsure about how to produce the best overall results for the company and if you are managing a large staff it is no wonder because you have to rely on the eyes and ears of everyone else in order to just keep up with everything.

Answers can be found online in the form of management tools of many systems that are being offered. Entrepreneurs from around the world are discovering that implementing Six Sigma can help your business more effectively manage and measure results. A constant evaluation and training of employees to meet and exceed the goals can really help you achieve the kind of success you are looking for, while building a company that is strong from bottom to top. It is important to consider the use of these tools if you really want to have the success you are looking for your entire staff. Six Sigma managers make work less and do more things.

Nobody’s perfect and Six Sigma training is the right way to go because it allows for modification once your project has started. Having the right Six Sigma training will help you learn how to complete projects in an efficient way. As long as you pay attention to the processes as they are happening, it will be easy to catch small flaws that can be brought to light before the process is completed or fails.

It might be a project that can benefit from a Six Sigma project and, even though you have done all of the work and it seems like the best thing for the company, you might realize that there are bigger problems than you originally though. This is the time to make choices and you can either use the Six Sigma process or just encompass the entire problem and come up with one solution that solves the entire situation.

If you try to encompass your entire project with one solution that don’t use all of the Six Sigma Projects, it might make things seem easier but if you don’t have the resources to solve those problems without the Six Sigma Process, it might be the best solution. Take the time to test the best solutions for your problems and save time and money.

Often, increasing the scope of your Six Sigma Projects is an easy fix that will out you to enhance the overall success of your project because you will be addressing a larger problem and therefore increasing more customer satisfaction, which will lead to bigger profits. There is no rule that says that you have to take on large projects all at once, but if you have the means to do so it can be much more efficient than doing many tiny projects over a period of time. Ultimately, you will need to discuss the situation with your Six Sigma Team and determine what is best for your business.

Just as many people fear change within their business because they are comfortable and they are afraid for their jobs, it is easy for a six Sigma team to become fearful that increasing the scope of the project will cause it to fail. After all, increasing the scope will require more work, more changes, and more chances for error. However, you need to maintain a positive and motivated attitude in order to achieve the best results with your Six Sigma Projects every single time. By learning to accept change and pay attention to the details when you’re working on your projects, you will be much less surprised if changes happen while projects are ongoing.

You will do well with learning all you can about six sigma. Decent six sigma training will take you wher you desire to go.

An alternate form of Six Sigma Training is Lean Six Sigma. Although it is an altered form it has many of its own capacities, and knowing the differences can add to your quality improvement projects, more then you may think possible. Although the basis fundamentals of Six Sigma are still evident in Lean, there are a few additions that set it apart.

The eight elements of waste is the focus of the Lean Six Sigma Process. It has been proven that by simply removing these areas of waste, the company will actually improve quality. Below you will find what the Lean process considers wastes, and examples of each.

-Wasted Human Talent: This category includes any employee that is not pulling their weight, thus slowing the process down. It also includes anyone without a specific job function within the process.

-Defects: This can be products or processes that are not right. These obviously need solutions to fix them before they can be eliminated.

-Inventory: Too much product waiting to be worked. This can also refer to too many patients in a doctors waiting room, for example.

-Overproduction: You never want to have to much of something before it is needed. This can get in the way of a well-organized operation.

-Wasted time: Waiting on product to arrive, idle time that could be better spent on various processes or activities. Having five employees standing around waiting to unload a truck that hasn’t arrived is a good example.

-Motion: When talking about motion, it is pretty self explanatory. It refers to the moving around of people when there is absolutely no need for it. An great example of this is when you make an appointment for a clinic and you are sent to triage, then back to the waiting room and then to the exam room. Everything should just be down right in the exam room.

-Transportation: Any form of ineffective transportation that is used to move people or a product. If it is not necessary then it is wasteful and not needed.

-Process Waste: Things that have to be done, but don’t add value to the process, product, or service at hand. For example, a bank manager has to process a lot of paperwork, but this doesn’t help customers or increase the banks ability to serve those customers in most cases.

By utilizing Lean Six Sigma and understanding the areas of waste, you are sure to improve the quailty of the product that is produced by you company.
